However, WholesaleUp™ is an access-based directory — we facilitate introductions, not transactions. We strongly recommend running your own [due diligence checklist](/help/faq?q=due-diligence) before a first order (registry lookup, bank-account-name match, paid sample, terms in writing).

What if I have a problem with a supplier?

[Contact our support team](/contact) with details of the issue. We take reports seriously and may remove suppliers who don't meet our standards. Note that WholesaleUp™ is not a party to transactions between buyers and suppliers — disputes over orders should be resolved directly, but we can help mediate.

What due diligence should I perform before ordering?

Apply standard B2B due diligence before a new supplier relationship: (1) look the company up in its country's business registry (Companies House in the UK, state registries in the US, the equivalent register in the relevant EU country) and confirm it's active, (2) make sure the supplier's bank account name matches the registered company name, (3) order a paid sample before bulk, (4) check the [supplier profile](/suppliers) and [deal page](/deals) for declared defaults (Incoterms, import-duty coverage, free-shipping threshold, insurance, quality inspection), then agree anything not already stated — delivery terms, lead time, returns, warranty — in writing before paying, (5) search the company name for public complaints, and (6) prefer traceable payment methods (card, PayPal Business, or bank transfer against a written invoice) — never cash, crypto, or personal-account transfers on a first order. How does WholesaleUp™ protect against scams?

Accepted Answer

We verify suppliers before listing, display verification badges, track supplier performance metrics, and surface a reputation summary on each supplier's [Review tab](/help/faq?q=supplier-reviews) (overall score, source count, per-dimension breakdown, highlights and cautions — visible to Premium+ buyers and Supplier Pro members). We also monitor for suspicious activity and remove suppliers that fail to meet standards. However, no directory can guarantee every transaction — always apply standard B2B precautions.

How do I report a problematic supplier?

Accepted Answer

Two paths: (1) [Premium+](/retailer-upgrade) buyers can use the **Report supplier** button on any supplier profile to file an in-product report directly against that supplier; (2) any user can reach the [Contact form](/contact) and select "Report an Issue" as the query type. In both cases, provide the supplier name, details of the problem, and any supporting evidence (screenshots, emails, order confirmations). Our team investigates all reports.

I can't find suitable suppliers or deals — what should I do?

Submit a request describing exactly what you're looking for (product, brand, target price, quantity) and our research team will find matching suppliers for you. [Premium+ members](/retailer-upgrade) also receive a daily Deals Digest tailored to their saved interests.

How do customs, taxes, and shipping work for wholesale orders?

WholesaleUp™ is a B2B discovery platform — orders are placed and fulfilled directly between you and the supplier, so the specifics depend on the supplier's terms. General guidance:

• **Shipping** — The supplier arranges shipping and provides the quote. Confirm Incoterms (EXW, FOB, DAP, DDP) in writing before paying; they determine who pays freight and who is the importer of record.
• **Customs documentation** — The supplier should provide a commercial invoice, packing list, and (where relevant) certificates of origin or EUR.1 forms. For cross-border EU shipments, ask for the supplier's VAT/EORI number.
• **Import duties & VAT** — Unless you've agreed DDP terms, the buyer is responsible for import duties and local VAT/sales tax in the destination country. Your freight forwarder or customs broker handles clearance.
• **Intra-EU orders** — If both parties have valid VAT numbers, many transactions qualify for reverse-charge VAT treatment.

**Check what the supplier has already declared.** Each [supplier profile](/suppliers) and [deal page](/deals) surfaces the supplier's defaults for Incoterms, import-duty coverage (covered by Incoterms, buyer-pays, seller-pays, or not applicable), any free-shipping threshold, whether transit/shipping insurance is provided on dispatches, and whether pre-dispatch quality inspection is performed as standard. Per-deal terms override the supplier default where set — so read the deal page first, then the profile for anything not stated there. Anything that isn't declared on-platform is what you'd raise in writing before paying.

Yes. WholesaleUp™ is a wholesale-discovery platform, not a sales channel — there’s no lock-in. The same verified suppliers and deals work whether you sell on eBay, Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, your own site, or brick-and-mortar retail.

Why is a supplier's website URL hidden for me?

Two independent gates. Visibility depends on supplier tier, buyer tier, and context: Supplier Pro URLs are visible to every logged-in member everywhere; Supplier Free URLs are hidden for Free buyers everywhere, visible to Standard only on /deal pages (still hidden in the /suppliers directory), and visible to Premium / Premium+ / Supplier Pro in every context. Click budget (separate gate): 500/mo base; 750/mo for Premium+ and Supplier Pro; guests can't click at all. What personal data does WholesaleUp™ collect?

Nine categories, per Privacy Policy §1: identity and business data (name, company, VAT ID, subscription tier), contact data (email, phone, address, social handles), buyer profile data (categories, volumes, sourcing preferences, target markets), supplier profile data (supplier type, catalogue, certifications, MOQs, payment terms, Incoterms), transactional and behavioral data (deal views, saved deals, supplier visits, searches, impressions — raw events retained 7 days then aggregated into anonymised daily statistics; collected for both registered users and visitors), technical and account data (IP, browser, device, cookies, session tokens, login history, OAuth tokens, push subscriptions and delivery logs), communication preferences (newsletter and notification settings), uploaded content (files, images, logos), and AI chat conversations (stored 90 days by default, with email addresses, phone numbers, and card numbers auto-scrubbed before storage). How is my data used?

Seven purposes, per Privacy Policy §2: to provide and manage your access (contract), improve services (legitimate interests), personalise newsletters, browsing, and product recommendations (consent), send promotional updates (consent / legitimate interests), protect security and prevent fraud — including bot detection, rate limiting, login monitoring, and password-breach checking (legitimate interests), generate aggregated anonymised statistics on platform usage and category trends (legitimate interests), and display a real-time "online now" presence indicator to peers you're in active contact with (only a derived ten-minute boolean flag is shared, never the underlying timestamp — legitimate interests). We never sell or rent your data.

How long is my data retained?

Retention is tiered, per Privacy Policy §7 and §1.9:

• Core personal data (profile, contact details, uploaded content) — kept while your account is active
• AI chat conversations — 90 days by default, with email addresses, phone numbers, and card numbers auto-scrubbed before storage; if a chat escalates to a support ticket, the ticket's retention applies instead
• Raw behavioral events (individual deal views, supplier visits, search impressions) — 7 days, then aggregated into anonymised daily statistics and the raw records are permanently deleted
• Account-deletion requests — processed within 30 days of receipt (GDPR Article 12; may extend by up to two months for complex or high-volume requests, with notice)

We also periodically review and securely delete data no longer required.

Is my data shared with third parties?

Accepted Answer

Only with vetted sub-processors under GDPR-compliant terms, per Privacy Policy §4:

• Hosting, database, CDN — Vercel
• Email delivery — Resend
• Traffic control & DDoS protection — Cloudflare
• Rate limiting & caching — Upstash
• AI assistant — Anthropic (conversation content you submit)
• Payments — Stripe, PayPal (full card details handled directly by the provider; we only receive a transaction reference plus last-four digits and card brand)
• Analytics — Google Analytics (pseudonymised usage, IP truncated where supported)
• Authentication (OAuth) — Google, Apple, Facebook (only if you choose social sign-in)
• Anti-fraud — Google reCAPTCHA, HaveIBeenPwned (partial password-hash prefix only; your actual password is never transmitted)
• Legal authorities — only if required by law, court order, or regulatory obligation

We do not sell, rent, or lease your data. International transfers outside the EEA / UK are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

What cookies does WholesaleUp™ use?

Accepted Answer

Four consent categories:

• Essential — session, security, consent state, form-draft autosave (always on)
• Personalisation — sidebar preferences, display currency, profile-completion progress (requires consent)
• Analytics — Google Analytics _ga / _gid for usage data (requires consent)
• Marketing/Advertising — ad-platform and affiliate cookies (requires consent)

No marketing cookies are currently active on the site. When our affiliate programme launches, a first-party cookie (wup_aff_ref) will store referral attribution for 60 days (or 90 days for top-tier affiliates) under the Marketing category — and only if you've accepted marketing cookies. Question 17

How do I manage my cookie preferences?

Accepted Answer

Click "Cookie Settings" in the website footer at any time to reopen the consent panel. You can accept all, reject all, or pick individual categories. Your choice is stored for 12 months, then we'll re-ask with your previous preferences pre-selected. You can also control cookies via your browser settings.

Why does WholesaleUp track my device fingerprint?

Accepted Answer

Paid subscriptions are licensed to one user, so we hash a few browser properties (user-agent, language, screen, time-zone, platform) one-way to detect when the same device suddenly logs in to multiple paid accounts. The hash never leaves WholesaleUp, isn't used for advertising, and is kept for 90 days. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR legitimate interest, per [Privacy Policy §1.10](/legal/privacy). Question 19

What is "impossible-travel" detection and how does it affect me?

Accepted Answer

We compare the country (inferred from IP, country-level only) of two consecutive sign-ins on your account. UK→Mumbai inside an hour fires the check. New accounts (14-day warm-up), frequent travellers, VPN users, and corporate IPs are exempted. We never auto-suspend on this signal alone — appeals are reviewed individually if the system is wrong.

How long is my login + device-fingerprint data kept?

Accepted Answer

Device-fingerprint hashes: 90 days. Behavioural aggregates: 90 days. Raw login records: 12 months. Abuse-event audit rows: indefinitely (legal compliance). Older rows are auto-pruned by cron — we don't hoard data. Right to erasure under Article 17 UK GDPR applies, but abuse-audit rows fall under the Article 17(3)(b) legal-compliance exemption.

Key points: WholesaleUp™ is a B2B access-based service for business entities or sole traders (not a transactional marketplace); access packages are one-time purchases with no auto-renewal; transactions between buyers and suppliers happen directly — WholesaleUp™ is not a party to those transactions; and WholesaleUp™'s total liability for any claim is capped at the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim (clause 8.5).

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may commence proceedings in the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, which have exclusive jurisdiction — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection jurisdiction that may apply to Users in the EU or UK. No. All text, graphics, logos, images, and software on the Site are copyright © 2004–2026 Tradegenius SL — unauthorized copying, reproduction, republishing, or redistribution is prohibited (see [clause 13 of the Terms of Use](/legal/terms)). Systematic retrieval of data to create or compile a collection, database, or directory (scraping) is also prohibited under clause 3.2. Why is WholesaleUp™ asking for my ID or business registration?

Accepted Answer

Under [clause 11.1 of the Terms of Use](/legal/terms), we may request proof of identity and business-registration documents as part of our AML (anti-money-laundering) and KYC (know-your-customer) checks. Requests are typically triggered by risk signals — for example a mismatch between billing country and account country, unusually high-value purchases, or suspected fraudulent activity — and by [clause 1.2](/legal/terms), which requires every User to represent a business entity or sole trader. Accounts may be suspended or terminated if the requested information is not provided within a reasonable time, or if fraudulent or illegal activity is suspected. Documents are retained only for as long as needed to complete verification and are handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy).

Is WholesaleUp™ liable if something goes wrong with a deal or supplier?

Accepted Answer

WholesaleUp™ is a directory and access service — transactions between buyers and suppliers happen directly, so responsibility for orders, payments, shipments, refunds, and product quality sits with the supplier, not with WholesaleUp™. Under [clause 8.5 of the Terms of Use](/legal/terms), WholesaleUp™'s total liability for any claim arising out of the agreement is capped at the amount of fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, and WholesaleUp™ is not liable for loss of profit, business, or any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages. Clauses 6 (Warranties), 7 (Indemnity), and 8 (Limitation of Liability) set out the full allocation of risk. If you have a problem with a supplier, contact the supplier first via the enquiry thread — our [support team](/contact) can escalate if the supplier is unresponsive.

Question 27

Can I share my WholesaleUp™ account with a colleague?

Accepted Answer

No. Each account is for a single User. Under [clause 3.5 of the Terms of Use](/legal/terms), account sharing is prohibited, and we employ session monitoring to detect access from multiple devices or locations simultaneously. If sharing is detected the account may be suspended for 24 hours; repeated breaches may result in permanent suspension. If your team needs multi-user access, each colleague should create their own WholesaleUp™ account. [Clause 3.6](/legal/terms) also covers the broader suspension and termination grounds — inaccurate or incomplete information, suspected fraud, harassment of other users, or any other material breach.
