A complete buyer profile tells suppliers exactly what you need, so they can respond faster and more accurately. Learn how to fill in each section for maximum impact.
Suppliers decide whether to respond to your enquiry within seconds. A complete profile with clear product interests, location, and sourcing preferences signals that you’re a serious buyer. Suppliers respond faster to complete profiles because they can quickly assess whether they’re a fit. Incomplete profiles often get lower priority.
Go to Dashboard → Buyer Profile. The profile is organized into 4 tabs: Buyer Profile, Sourcing Preferences, Orders & Payment, and Online Presence & Market Focus. The more complete the profile, the better your matches and faster the responses.
On the Buyer Profile tab, enter your company name, pick one or more Buyer Types that describe your business (e.g., Online Retailer, Shop / High Street Retailer, Marketplace Seller, Dropshipper, Wholesaler / Reseller, Distributor / Importer), describe your retail or sourcing business, and select your preferred supplier types and sourcing models. You can also upload a company logo.
Be specific
Instead of "furniture", say "office seating and desks". Suppliers appreciate specificity.
Share your volumes
Tell suppliers your typical order quantities. This helps them assess whether they can serve you profitably.
Mention your growth plans
If you’re ramping up, say so. Suppliers want to grow with you and may offer better terms for scaling partners.
Keep it professional
Your profile is a first impression. Use clear language, correct spelling, and a professional tone.
Update regularly
As your business evolves, update your profile. Remove old categories and add new ones so your profile stays current.

Profile Tips for Faster Responses
Suppliers often scan dozens of enquiries daily. A clear, complete profile that immediately answers "Who is this buyer?" will get responses 2–3 times faster. Include your location, product categories, typical order size, and any special requirements. This single step can shave days off your sourcing timeline.

Choose the product categories you source from. WholesaleUp™ will prioritise matching you with suppliers and deals in these categories. You can select multiple categories. Be specific but not overly narrow — this helps custom sourcing and deal recommendations work better.
Enter your primary business location and specify your sourcing geography: do you prefer to source locally, regionally, or globally? Also indicate your preferred shipping destinations — suppliers will check this to confirm they can ship to your countries.
In the sourcing preferences section, share details about what you’re looking for: typical order volumes, price ranges, lead times you need, whether you require samples, and any special requirements (e.g., custom packaging, specific certifications, dropship capability).
This information is crucial. Suppliers will review it before responding to your enquiries, and it significantly speeds up the negotiation process.
Write a brief description of your business: what you do, what you sell, your target market, and what makes your business unique. Keep it concise (2–3 sentences) but professional. Suppliers read this to decide whether working with you is a good fit.
